June 24th Team Carried to 16,400 ft

The team carried a load of gear up to 16,400 ft yesterday, and were hoping to move to high camp as early as today.  The weather doesn’t look like it is going to cooperate for a move today, but it is expected to improve by Tuesday.

June 17th Team at 7,800 ft/Camp 1

They are working their way down the mountain, but once again the weather isn’t cooperating with the climbers, and they are at 7,800 ft waiting for the snow to stop before continuing to base camp.  They descended to Camp 1 late last night, and set up tents as the snowfall intensity picked up.  It continued…

W. Rib Team Checking In

The team checked in from the W. Rib and they are doing great.  They’ve made a carry up as high as the 16,200 camp on the 6th.  They hope to move up there in a couple of days, but it looks like some weather might be coming in for a few days.

June 17th Team On The Way Down

The weather remained un cooperative up high on Denali over the last few days, and with a continued forecast of high winds the team made the decision to descend late yesterday.  They spent last night at Camp 3 at 14,000 ft and plan to continue their descent towards base camp after breakfast this morning. June 24th Team Checking In

Today was beautiful up on Denali and the team had a nice mostly relaxing day.  They had a leisurely breakfast and then went down the hill to 13,500 ft where they’d left a cache a few days earlier.   They picked up the cache of food and fuel and carried back up to camp at 14,200…

June 26 Team Camped at 14,200 ft

They moved on up to Camp 3 at 14,200 ft on a beautiful day.   It sounds like they are doing great and certainly happy to be moving up the mountain again.

Marty called in to report that the team made a carry to the plateau camp at 14,400 ft. They encountered high winds and cold temperatures, but everyone is doing well and feeling good.
