This is a ‘before’ photo, taken outside the Earth bed and breakfast the day of the meet and greet in Anchorage. Right now, this expedition is tucked into a solid camp at 11,200′, just above Kahiltna Pass.  They had a hard move from 7,800′ due to very windy and snowy conditions, but luckily the wind…


May 24 team- weather day at high camp

Chris Kerrick reports a ‘lazy’ day at high camp, drinking lots and lots of hot drinks and making the occasional satellite phone call.  The team is feeling well rested and only have to wait for the weather to clear up.  Keep watching the skies…

May 24 team: moved to 17,200′

This team continues to be exceptionally strong.  They called in from high camp to say a hello after having moved into a camp recently vacated by another Mountain Trip team.  Everyone is feeling great despite the altitude, and are looking forward to another good night of sleep.

May 12th and May 15- Back in town

The May 12 and May 15th expeditions have all flown off the glacier and are in Anchorage getting dropped off at various B&Bs, probably jumping in the shower and enjoying such things as running water and indoor plumbing.  Stay tuned for a wrapup blog entry from the guide teams, maybe with some photos!

Update From Kathmandu

Welcome to the end of the season from Kathmandu! Everything has been wrapped up here. With all members back home or on their way. The weather has changed here to very Monsoony! Warm with afternoon thunderstorms. Its actually very nice, not as crowded, with lots of good friends here. A very good season, 100% success…

May 20 Team – Back in camp

After a long day and a methodical descent, the entire expedition is back in camp and eating a well-deserved meal in their tents, the entire team made the summit.  People are tired but doing well, the focus now is to get everyone fed and as rehydrated as possible before they go to sleep.  Rest up…
