The May 26 team made the big move to high camp at 17,200 ft today. They are on the final push up the mountain and may go for the summit as soon as tomorrow if everyone is ready to go and the weather continues to look great.
A high pressure system has moved back over the Alaska Range and blue skies and beautiful weather are being welcomed by all the climbers. Today the team did a “back carry” meaning they went downhill from their camp at 11,000 ft to the cache they left 2 days ago at 10,200 ft. They picked up their cache of food and gear and brought it up to their camp. It’s a relatively short day, usually not more than 2 hours…
Nicole had the honors tonight and called in from the 14,200 ft camp on the West Buttress. Today was a rest/acclimatization day after yesterdays big climb to the ridge at 16,400ft. They enjoyed beautiful weather and are ready to move on up to high camp tomorrow. Listen to the call: recording

Viviane called in this evening from Camp 2 at 11,000 ft. They awoke to snow, but the weather cleared and it turned into a beautiful day. They were able to climb up to 13,500 ft around Windy Corner to cache some food and gear to prepare to move up to Camp 3 at 14,200 ft…
It was a big day for the team as they carried loads of gear and food up to the ridge that leads to high camp in preparation for moving to high camp and the summit push. They had a great day and plan to rest tomorrow to be ready for the last big push. Listen…
