Weather is the name of the problem right now: it has not been terrible but not good enough to move up the route. Visibility has been lacking due to snowfall; of all things that help make navigating an icefall on a glacier easier, vilibility is #1. Having cached a good amount of their food up on the route already, the team is running a little short on supplies; so they either have to push up to their cache and retrieve enough food to wait for better weather, or retreat to camp1 and resupply from a cache there. All efforts are still centered on going up the route, the only question now is how best to wait it out.
Michael — you’ll look back on this one day and laugh. Hope you’re laughing a bit now, too. Stay warm and safe. Good luck in whatever you guys decide to do.
