We asked team members to send us photos of how they trained for their upcoming expedition and team member Aaron Kurland sent us two shots from a recent solo trip he took up Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the lower 48 states. Aaron also joined us for 12 days of training in the Alaska Range, in May and we’re certain he’ll be an asset to our June 26th West Buttress team.
A returning Mountain Trip climber, Alan Arnette, also sent in a shot of his Denali training, which just happened to include climbing Mount Everest last month. Actually, Alan is climbing the Seven Summit in one year in an effort to raise $1 million towards Alzheimer’s research and awareness of this disease.
His mom, Ida, died from it in 2009 and also two of his aunts. It has no cure and impacts over 5 million people in the US and 25 million worldwide and its toll on families and the financial impact of this disease is devastating. Thus far, he has summited Vinson, Aconcagua and Everest.
We are happy to help Alan with his cause and invite you to look over his very informative website and hopefully make a contribution to his campaign at : www.alanarnette.com
