Jacob called last night on the satellite phone from high camp. Although it was a lot colder up there and people were tired from a long day, Jacob said everyone was warm and dry, eating a hot meal in their sleeping bags. It took the team 8 hours to move from 14,200′ to 17,200′ (4,328m-5,243m) which is a great time. Jacob reports everyone moving strong and happy, with good weather. They plan on a rest day today for a few reasons. One is that taking a rest day will allow people to recover and prepare for a summit bid, and the other is for the guide team to scout ahead on the route and put in protective gear for the rope teams to use to safeguard their ascent.
