Up relaxing in Dingboche here. Good hike this morning up to 15,500 ft and
the small village of Chukung. Woke today to light snow and cloud. Now
enjoying the wonderful sunroom at the Snow Lion Lodge having some Latte’s!
Some great news from up higher on the mountain. Our Sherpa team has been up
to Camp 2 yesterday, which is quite early for the route to be in. This is
good as some teams can choose to go earlier which can help create less
crowded conditions towards when we would like to go high. The biggest
challenges so far have been trying to get a 3g signal to send data out.
There is a mobile network that covers some of the Khumbu region, but we are
in places the last couple nights where we cannot connect. Probably the next
few days will be difficult. These reports are going out with our Satellite
connection. The satellites have only been visable part of the afternoons, so
lots of challenges communicating from here. The team is good. We have been
having a blast so far on the trek. Just a few days more and we’ll be in Base
Camp. Some photos from the trek, the monastery in Pangboche and some of the
team in Debouche!
