After an extended stay in the small town of Talkeetna, the June 7 team capitalized on a short window of weather to fly into the Alaska Range. They arrived on the Southeast Fork of the Kahiltna Glacier in the evening, and shortly thereafter, the weather took a turn for the worse and began snowing and blowing.
The plan is to move up glacier as soon as possible, and try to reach Camp 1 at 7,800′ on June 12. There is a lot of new snow on the lower glacier, so the team will have some work ahead of them, unless they can take advantage of another team’s trail.
