The team is right on track and reached the Plaza Argentina base camp today. They’ll spend several days in the relative luxury of base camp acclimating and carrying some loads up higher on the mountain to prepare for the next move. We have a very comfortable dining tent with tables, chairs, and lights at base camp and the meals are catered by some great cooks. It’s at just over 14,000 ft, so it is high up on a big mountain, but the little comforts sure help ease the shock of the high altitude. Tomorrow they’ll take a rest day to acclimate and recover, everyone is pretty excited to be there.
