Climber Joanna Schrap called in on behalf of the May 13 Denali West Buttress Team–who were finally able to fly into the Alaska Range after three weather days in Talkeetna, and two failed attempts at a flight in that resulted in pilots turning back due to weather. The team had assembled at Denali Base Camp at 7,200′ on the Kahiltna Glacier to discuss their upcoming move up to Camp One at 7,800′. They have also already begun strategizing how they can account for lost time while still acclimatizing properly for their ascent to 20,310′.
Here’s Joanna!
