Rest Day for Japan 8 8 Team at 14 Camp

Team Leader Eli Potter called in the trip report tonight. He reported that the team enjoyed a “semi” rest day today at 14 Camp, located in the beautiful Genet basin. It was on a “semi” rest day because the team elected to stretch their legs and walk over to “The Edge of the World.” This is a spot at the very edge of the basin that forms camp, where you can peer (carefully!) over the edge of a rock outcropping and gaze 1000 meters down at the heavily crevassed Northeast Fork of the Kahiltna Glacier below.

The plan is to watch the weather carefully, and if it cooperates, move a load of equipment and supplies to a cache at 16,400 tomorrow.
