Today was a planned rest and acclimatization day for the team. Climbing a mountain as high as Denali requires climbers to be disciplined and methodical in their rate of ascent. Fit climbers could pretty easily just keep on moving up the mountain day after day, but the decreasing barometric pressure at each higher elevation can be problematic, unless you take it slowly and let your body adjust to each higher camp.
The weather is looking a bit iffy, with significant wind and snow, so spending today in their cook tent and in the relative comfort of 14,200′ camp was an easy choice. Several other teams passed through to say hello and to replenish their water bottles, which made for a fun social atmosphere.
