Mountain Trip guide Glenn Cramer called in with an update on the May 28 Denali West Buttress Expedition, who are camped at Camp One at 7,800′, and will likely be moving up to Camp Two at 11,200′ feet today, June 2.
The storms that have been plaguing the Alaska range with high winds, heavy snowfall, low visibility and frigid temperatures for the past two weeks have finally subsided, giving way to clear, beautiful weather and sunshine.
The team set out yesterday morning with the hopes of burying a cache at 10,200 from 7,800′, but guide Glenn experienced a hip flexor injury. They decided to bury their cache at that point and head back down to Camp One.
Glenn will be descending to Base Camp with another Mountain Trip guide and client today, where he will wait with another Mountain Trip team to fly out back to Talkeetna.
