Mountain Trip guide Fischer Hazen called in with a quick update on the Mountain Trip May 11 West Buttress Expedition, from 14,200′ on the route.
The team decided to not push up to High Camp after news of extremely high wind speeds, and opted to spend the day hiking around 14-Camp, resting and taking photos of the beautiful Alaska Range from their camp at 14,200′, already above many of the surrounding peaks.
Fischer said that the team is all doing well. We’re still optimistic about their chances of reaching the summit, as long as the weather cooperates.
