Lorenz called in from Camp 2 at 18,000 ‘ (5500m) this afternoon. The move up to what is often called “Chopper Camp” was very challenging today, as they had to break trail through knee deep snow all the way. Breaking trail at over 17,000′ is HARD!! Strong work guys!
The plan is to make a carry up to High camp tomorrow. High Camp is located at a spot known as White Rocks, located on the north ridge of the mountain, at an elevation of right around 20,000’. They have plenty of time, and all plans are ultimately dependent on the weather.
Here is Lorenz:
Dear Lorenz,
Dear Aconcagua Team,
Tough times! No snow in the Alps in Switzerland (!), too much snow presently with you. All the best for the remaining challenges and keep your efforts well under control. We will keep fingers crossed.

Hey guys,
Just catching up on your blog. All sounds incredibly adventureous. Can’t wait to hear the stories in person 🙂 I hope the wind and snowfall will get better in the upcoming days, you guys are nearly there.
Keep save and warm,
