Hmm. We’re scratching our heads a bit from this one. We were able to tell that the update came from climber Katrin Oertel, and that half of it was in German, but unfortunately they had a spotty satellite phone connection, likely due to the snowy conditions.
The Mountain Trip June 26 West Buttress Expedition is still at camp at 11,200′, waiting for a weather window to move higher on the mountain. As far as we know, they are not planning on moving to 14,200′ today.
Here’s the update, which cuts out fairly quickly. We apologize!

Praying the weather clears up and you can get up the mountain!! Go team Go! LOVE YOU DANIEL!

Hallo Katrin,
Kirk, it must be frustrating waiting for the weather to clear. Just like all else – all in due time. Feeling impressed by you – nothing new. Love, Mom
Hey dad! Hoping the weather clears for you guys!
Love you!
Daniel,
Climb that mole hill man! If i spoke German I’d be able to get more excited about your trip. We will have to climb together soon.
Go get em, Mr. Laidig! Hopefully a weather window opens soon for you guys! Don’t go getting cabin fever inside your tent!
