Omri called in from the broad basin camp at 14,200′. The team took a rest day today. The highlight was a short walk over to a spot known as “The Edge of the World,” where the basin drops thousands of feet to the Northeast Fork of the Kahiltna Glacier. It is a dramatic and beautiful spot. For the daring, you can climb up on an outcrop of granite and poke your head over the overhanging far side of the rock, looking straight down for a long, long way!
They plan to move up to the 17,200′ High Camp tomorrow, and go for the summit shortly thereafter.
Here’s Omri!
