The May 21 Team is making steady progress on the West Buttress itinerary from their home at Camp 3 14,200 ft (4328 m). We’re psyched to be losing track of how many bilingual dispatches we’ve had so far and today’s call-in was another one so be sure to check it out. After a solid rest day, the team woke up and went for a 2,000 ft (610 m) above the fixed lines of the Headwall to the cache site at 16,100 ft (4907 m). We hear it was a classic Denali blend of “brutal but, good!” which if you’ve ever enjoyed a “suffer-fest” in the outdoors you can imagine!
Pushing our limits in the outdoors is all about the Type 2 fun and preserving through the tough moments to achieve something you’ll always look back on fondly. This is especially true for a few weeks Denali. Back down at camp, the team enjoyed a delicious dinner and bedded down early to get ready for tomorrow when they will be looking to move to Camp 4 17,200 ft (5242 m). Stay tuned!
Keep strong Celine and the team 💪💪💪
