Mountain Trip guide, Logan called in with just another daily update. Just kidding, today is extra special and the news is legendary! The May 10 Team has officially achieved their expedition objective and summited Denali 20,300 ft (6187 m), the tallest peak in North America! Tap the recording link below to hear their dispatch from the high point of the continent and their uncontainable stoke.
For the last fourteen days, the guides and climbers have given their all to this climb. With the proper combination of climbing, acclimatizing, and rest these folks are lucky to be one of the first Mountain Trip crews of the season to reach the summit. It can seem like a game of luck in the mountains at times but, conditions and stars all aligned just right for this team and we are nothing short of ecstatic for them!
From their dance party on the summit, the guides and climbers will tie back into their rope team for the 3,000 ft (914 m) descent back to their base at High Camp 17,200 ft (5242 m) for the night. The total round-trip climbing time will be between 9-12 hours. We should hear back from them soon. Drop the team a “hip hip hooray” comment below and stay tuned for tomorrow’s update!
