Good news from our May 17 Team: they have successfully moved to Camp 2 11,000 ft (m)! This is absolutely a big push of a day, as climber David reports in his daily update. Luckily, the team was graced with good weather that allowed for smooth sailing out of Camp 1 7,800 ft (2377 m), and up the 1,800 ft (549 m) Ski Hill.
In total the team hauled full packs and heavy sleds 4.75 miles (7.64 km), with 3,400 ft (1,036 m) of elevation gain. The climb time for this day clocks in at approximately 5.5-7 hours. Strong work, team!
Arriving at “Second Camp” at the base of Motorcycle Hill the team dropped their gear and set up home for the next few days. This is an incredibly beautiful location of the West Buttress route that basks in alpenglow when the sun travels around the north side of the mountain. The team celebrated their accomplishment together in the cook tent dining on a warm meal of spicy curry. David reports that it was delicious!
Everyone is happy, healthy, and in high spirits. The team is sending their love to all their friends and family back home.
Thanks for the great update David! Glad to hear all is well and you are staying in good spirits. We are cheering the team on every step of the way. Love, Caroline & Buddy

Get that mountain! Stay safe and enjoy the adventure. (I don’t understand why you want a bike for the ride down, skis seem much more logical). Thinking of you and Antonio (but not Mike).
Eric, Megan, Vivi and Lucy.
