The May 7 team is weathering their second rest day at Camp 2 11,000 ft – pun intended! Remember when you were a kid and you’d wake up to get ready for school only to find it was a “snow day” so you got to stay home in your pajamas? Weather days on the West Buttress aren’t that different!
Our team is reporting heavy snow and wind that has majorly reduced visibility. Navigating your climb team in a whiteout should only be done when absolutely necessary as it poses an obvious risk. The team remains strong, high-spirited, and happy to be playing it safe.
The hope is that the weather will be clear enough to move tomorrow to pick up their cache and move up the route towards Camp 3 14,000 ft (4267 m).
As always, the team is sending their love to friends and family back home!
Stay warm !! Fingers crossed weather subsides for you all! 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️Postive energy!
