We are so stoked to hear the first official update from the May 13 Team from long-time Mountain Trip guide, Maddie Crowell. The team has been doing the “Talkeetna hang” from Sunday to Tuesday waiting out low visibility and poor flying conditions. While they’re waiting the team has been keeping busy!
Weather day itineraries the last few days have included trips to the local museum, hikes along the river, visiting the Denali National Park Service Office, and dining out at Talkeetna’s favorite restaurants. The team has also used this time to get extra organized laying out gear and prepping meal ingredients in the Talkeetna Air Taxi hanger. Hopefully, the team is flying out tomorrow so the next time you hear from this team will be from basecamp at the SE fork of the Kahiltna glacier – ciao!
