Guide Jason Denley called in an update after a nighttime descent down to Base Camp, a long, midnight sun-lit push that drops over 13,000′ in vertical from the summit back down to 7,200′. Unfortunately, the weather has prevented them from catching a ride with Talkeetna Air Taxi back to civilization, and they may have to wait out a small low pressure system today, 6/1, as well.
Huge congrats once again to the team for taking advantage of the window and making it to the summit of the Great One, 20,310′, after challenging weather and conditions last season.
Here’s Jason!
