Mark from the May 13 Denali West Buttress expedition (“Yoshi and the Yetis”), who reached the summit a couple of days ago, called in an update from Base Camp, awaiting their flight out of the range.
The team descended over 13,000′ down from the summit of Denali, picking up a cache along the way, making for a couple of BIG days of downhill after walking mostly, consistently uphill for the past two weeks.
They are awaiting a bit clearer weather to catch a flight out to Talkeetna, along with dozens of other climbers who took advantage of the summit window. Huge congratulations once again to the team! We will post photos from the expedition, and from summit day, once we receive them.
Here’s Mark!
