Climber Adrian Fehr called in an update on the December 16 Aconcagua team, who traveled from Casa de Piedras to Aconcagua Base Camp! On their way, they fjorded several very cold rivers with the assistance of mules and their arrieyos. Adrian noted that the team received a “spa treatment” on the way up to base camp, an optimistic outlook on being essentially blasted by the dust-filled high winds for which Aconcagua is notorious.
They had a long, challenging hike from Casa de Piedras at 10,000′ to Plaza Argentina Base Camp at 13,800.
In the coming days the team will continue to acclimatize as they continue up the route.
Here’s Adrian with the update!

Good luck to the team! Much love to my mom Julia—we love you and hope you’re having a great time.
Pizza, spa treatments — just another walk in the woods? Great to hear you are all doing so well!
