Lead Guide Ty from the May 26th West Buttress Expedition called in from 17,200′ to report that the team has made it to High Camp!

High Camp at 17,200′.

The move to High Camp is a doozy! Up the fixed lines and all the way across the 16-Ridge, it’s definitely one of the top 3 hardest days of climbing Denali. But arriving at High Camp feels oh so sweet! The position of camp is perched atop the one and only flat spot on the shoulder of the summit plateau, and the views are outrageous.

Now the team will begin carefully monitoring the weather in hopes for that elusive “perfect weather window” that will give them the chance to make a bid for the summit.
