Lead Guide Josh Jespersen called in from Camp 3 at 14,200 feet (4328 m). The team had a great day of moving up from Camp 2, located 3,200 feet below. They broke down camp and loaded their packs with all their sleeping kit, as well as some food and fuel that had not been previously cached.
Immediately above camp rises Motorcycle Hill, a thousand-foot slope that required the team to use crampons to ascend. Light snow falling during the day, coupled with some wind and cold temperatures. It was a good day out, and the team settled into their sleeping bags after a solid day of effort.
Here’s Josh!
Good job, team! Must have been an exhausting day. Hope you slept soundly and woke up refreshed! Praying for you all.
Denali is the path of possibility. Great beauty and wonder as you make this great effort up the mountain. You all are remarkable and admirable.
