Lead Guide Karl with the May 22nd West Buttress Denali Expedition called in “feeling very satisfied and accomplished today” because his team made the big move around Windy Corner from Camp 2 to Camp 3 at 14,200′!
Here’s Karl: Audio Recording
According to Karl, the team really came together today as they supported each other on the long hard climb up from Camp 2. It also sounds like the weather was quite nice and Windy Corner wasn’t windy, but actually, quite hot! The temperature swings on Denali can be wild, but most climbers will take sunny and calm conditions over the alternative!
Strong work, May 22nd Team! We are happy to hear they have made it to 14-Camp. Now the team can get some rest and begin eyeing the upper mountain.
