Lead Guide Marcus called in from the June 9th Team to report that they team made the “night move” to Camp 1!
Here’s Marcus: Audio Recording
That’s right, the team packed up their things at Basecamp and departed in the middle of the night to maximum cold temperatures on the lower Kahiltna Glacier for their move to Camp 1. It’s easy to forget that at this point in the season, it can get pretty warm during the day on the lower glacier and also, it’s fully light out 24 hours a day! Moving during the night allows for easier travel on firmer snow. Nice work, June 9th Team!
Great start guys!
