They are out of base camp! It took an extra day, but they are on their way up the mountain. Joe called this morning from Camp 1 after traveling up the lower Kahiltna glacier through the night. They had to wind around a lot of crevasses to get there, but they are set up at Camp 1 tonight. They are planning on spending the day (July 2) sleeping and relaxing, and then getting up just after midnight again, and moving up another 2,000 ft to camp at about 9,800 tomorrow. Everybody did great getting up there today, and they are excited to be underway.
