The June 20th team checked in from their Camp 2 at 11,000 feet (I think it was Andrew?). They dropped down from camp this morning to retrieve their cache from about a thousand feet below. It only took them about 20 minutes to get to the cache site and a bit over an hour to carry their supplies back to camp. All in all, it was basically an active rest day, compared to the previous days of hard work.
The plan for tomorrow is to move their supplies farther up the mountain and cache them at around 13,500′. They will discard their snowshoes in favor of crampons to gain purchase on the steeper snow and ice that is to come.
And…! They wrote a poem!
Enjoy!
You all are doing great!
Hey dad (David McCampbell)
Praying for you all!
