Yesterday the team took a well deserved rest day at Camp 3. They spent the day perfecting their snow camp and reviewing skills that they will need as they continue up the mountain. Sometimes on rest days at camp 3 teams will also take some time to walk out to The Edge of the World, pictured below! The Edge of the World is a fantastic view point where Genet Basin (where Camp 3 resides) falls dramatically 6,000′ (1828m) down to the Southeast Fork of the Kahiltna below. It offers an incredible view of Mount Foraker (Sultana) from top to bottom. Today the team will be caching at 16,200′ (4937m) as the prepare for their move to High Camp and then a summit bid!
Here’s Bryan!
Alright Brian! Good to hear from you and glad it’s all going well so far. Best of luck for the summit, Mark
