Aaron Diamond with the June 15 ski team called in from 20,310′ (6190m)!! This has been a monumental year for guiding on Denali, as it is the first time the Park Service has allowed us to ski guide unroped during descent! After trying to get this approved with the Park Service for about a decade. Now we have had two guided ski teams stand on top of Denali, and we are so proud. We hope that Aaron and his team can enjoy their descent down, although undoubtedly they will encounter a variety of snow conditions.
Here’s an article that details the efforts of Todd Rutledge and Bill Allen to make these two ski trips happen this year!
