Fermin called in with the update last night. The team moved up to High Camp at 19,620 feet (5,980m) yesterday. To get there is just a few hours hike. Leaving Camp 2 the team climbs steeply up and then finds a gradual ascent up to a shallow basin. The basin is filled with bizarre purple and white rocks. As the team weaves through these rocks it is some surreal hiking! At the top of the basin, perched on the north ridge of Aconcagua, is High Camp.
Jon wasn’t feeling well and is now enjoying himself in a hotel in Mendoza, he is doing well. Fermin and Thiyag are continuing up to the Summit today.
Here’s Fermin!
