James called in from high camp on Cerro Pissis for the evening expedition dispatch! They moved up with all their gear today and will get some rest before heading for the summit in the pre-dawn hours of the morning. They’ve got about 3,000 feet of climbing left to do to reach the 6,795 meter (22,293 foot) summit. The climb above them isn’t technical, but it’s serious high altitude and the third highest peak in the Andes.
They’ll settle into camp tonight and try to get a few hours of sleep before waking up and starting the ascent. Here’s James with the evening expedition dispatch! Recording
