All of our climbers are on the way to base camp this morning. They left late last night, and have been working their way around the crevasses of the lower Kahiltna glacier and are almost to base camp this morning. It has been a bit of work, with challenging conditions and weather (again) but they’ll be in base camp before noon today. The remaining hurdle to civilization will now be to fly to Talkeetna. They need good visibility to fly the small ski planes into base camp where they land on the SE fork of the Kahiltna to pick up our climbers. Currently it is too cloudy to fly into the Alaska Range, but we’ll see how that changes as the day goes on.
