April 25th – Update from Base Camp Manager Scott Woolums:
Yet another perfect day here in Base Camp! The team took an acclimatization hike up through the lower part of the icefall today. All reported great conditions and a fun day out. They have all of their gear and supplied packed and the Sherpas are ready for our first move up to Camp 1 early tomorrow morning. Looking at going up for 2 nights at Camp 1, then 3 at Camp 2 for acclimatization. Spirits are high, in fact it’s been almost non stop laughter for days. Awesome team. Again everyone is healthy and ready to go at 2am tomorrow.
Some more teams have just arrived, and the air is abuzz with lots of helicopters again. A little sad news that one of our Sherpas strained or sprained his knee and has had to fly back to Kathmandu this morning. As things work here, we have another sherpa already only two days out to help out as the team begins their move up the mountain.
Will keep everyone posted as our team moves on from Camp 1 to Camp 2 over the next few days.
Cheers from Mountain Trip Everest Base Camp!
The team has continued to experience WiFi connectivity issues so unfortunately we don’t have any photos with this update. Stay tuned!
