Scott had the job of calling in the dispatch tonight from the May 22nd Denali West Buttress team. They moved up to Camp 2 at over 11,000 ft today, which is a long day of climbing, but they did great and are now settled in at camp and relaxing for the evening. Everyone is doing great and excited to be moving up the mountain!
Here’s Scott calling in with the dispatch.
Awesome to hear that 🙂 hoping for the best weather ahead.
Go Team Wheeler! You have come a long way since Timm’s Hill in WI!

Psalm 121 keeps running in my mind and this was so awesome to hear from Scott that you made it to 11,200′, Camp 2. “I lift up my eyes unto the hills(mountains)…from whence cometh my help? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth (& Denali). He will not let your foot slip (stumble)…He who watches over you will not slumber. At the conclusion: “The Lord will keep you from all harm….He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forever more .” Well done our beloved Wheelers. We love you so!
Happy graduation day to Jake, who’s probably happy as a little clam up there :> Missed you today at the ceremony but so so proud of you (all of you!) and thought of you the whole time! Keep staying safe and warm out there!!
The Wheeler family is remarkable! Extremely inspiring.
David Christie and Tim Davis – heading to Alaska tomorrow for an RV tour. It would be great if we could run into you.
