The Dec. 17 Mountain Trip Aconcagua team had a great day of trekking and are now in basecamp. They woke up early this morning and crossed over the Rio Vacas on the backs of the mules, and continued up the valley to basecamp. The team is all doing great and blown away at how nice the base camp facilities are! They’ve got a nice dining tent with tables and chairs and the food is great. They’ll be spending the next 4 nights at this camp, acclimatizing, resting, and climbing up to Camp 1. Tomorrow is a scheduled rest day, so they’ll have a chance to sleep in and let their bodies adjust to the 13,600 ft altitude of camp.
