Henry called in to give us an update last night. The team was able to carry some things up to High Camp for an acclimatization day. They reported the hike was amazing, great views. After climbing steeply from Camp 2, the team ascended gradually up to a shallow basin filled with bizarre purple and white rocks. Weaving through the rocks makes for some surreal hiking. At the top of the basin, perched on the north ridge of Aconcagua, sits High Camp. Rather than take a rest day afterwards, the team decided to press on, and yesterday they moved up to High Camp. Weather is moving in on Aconcagua, and the team’s best chance to summit was likely today. We should hear soon if they’ve made it!
