Henry called in last night after the team’s successful summit attempt. He reports the team woke up at 3am yesterday and was out of camp and on the trail by 4:30am. They were able to reach the summit at 22,837′ (6960m) around 1 or 2pm yesterday before making their way back down to High Camp which sits at 19,600′ (5974m). This is a big, hard day and a tough hike. The team was able to watch the sunrise and took some great photos from the summit, no doubt! After a well deserved full nights sleep and some rest the team will start making their way back down the mountain, but rather than go the way they came, they will continue to complete the traverse. We’ll update you on their descent as they call in.
Here’s Henry!
