The guys hiked another 5-6 hours up the Vacas Valley today on their way to base camp.  It was a hot and sunny day, but afternoon thundershowers developed shortly after they reached camp.  They spent most of the afternoon hiding in their tents from the rain, but they didn’t miss out on an Asada dinner, steak cooked over an open fire by the Arieros who are driving the mules and bringing their equipment to base camp.   Tomorrow they’ll hike the final stretch into base camp!
