Early in the morning, our 2017 Mount Everest Expedition departed the comfort of Base Camp and forged their way up through the difficult and exciting Khumbu Icefall. Everyone did great and the team is now camped at Camp 1 at an elevation of 18,850 feet.
Passing through the Icefall involved climbing through seracs (towering ice blocks), stepping across some crevasses and using ladders, sometimes multiple ladders lashed together, to cross others. We should have some pictures from today before too long!
Banzai! Waiting for pictures. Love and kisses.
Yo Chris Jentz! Greetings from 800 feet MSL. I hope you are Comfy in Camp 1. Stay strong and healthy. Love, Pablo
