Telluride Ski Resort Sidecountry Skiing
Mountain Trip offers guided sidecountry skiing accessed out the gates of Telluride Ski Resort, offering high-alpine, European-style ski descents unmatched in much of North America. Skiers and splitboarders will have the opportunity to sample thousands of feet of backcountry terrain suited for a wide variety of abilities. The possibilities are nearly endless if you factor uphill access into the equation, which opens up the ability to link the ski resort with neighboring basins for multiple runs of world-class skiing and riding.
We guide several different areas—primarily Upper Bear Creek and Alta Lakes Basin—on our Telluride Sidecountry Skiing trips, each suited for multiple skill levels. Descents into Bear Creek require expert-level experience, and participants must feel comfortable on all of the terrain at Telluride Ski Resort. Tours in Alta Lakes are more suited for beginner to intermediate backcountry skiers and riders. Please be sure to let us know where you are most comfortable skiing on the resort so we can put together the ideal day for you.
Like backcountry touring, accessible terrain is determined by the weather and conditions of the snowpack. We will do our best to guide you through your desired terrain, but please be aware that plans may change to avoid avalanche danger.

Sidecountry skiing requires that participants have a pass to Telluride Ski Resort, as routes are accessed via on-resort chairlifts. Ski passes are NOT included in the price of the trip. Please make sure you have or purchase one prior to your trip.
