Marcus Bailado
To me, the mountains fuel the soul. I was born and raised in Castle Rock, CO, where I found my love for adventuring in the form of snowboarding and biking. I didn’t get sick of Colorado, and ended up going to school in northern Colorado for education. I taught high school math, and guided rock climbing in the summers for three years. Teaching folks how to grow in all aspects of life is what really drove me, and I eventually left teaching to guide full-time.
I moved to Telluride, CO in 2020 and started guiding with Mountain Trip that year. Since then I have guided rock and ice climbing, via ferratas, skiing, and taught avalanche courses. My adventures have brought me all over the mountains of Colorado, the deserts of Utah and seas of rock in Nevada. I also romp up Denali in the springtime. I am working on my own guiding education so that I can help folks unlock skills to achieve their goals. I currently have an AMGA Single Pitch Instructor Certification; Apprentice Rock, Ski and Alpine Guide Course; completed my Ice Instructor Course; and am an AIARE Avalanche Education Instructor.
When I am not guiding you can find me adventuring in whatever medium seems fun, playing music or searching for the best food I can. I would love to teach you something new. Happy adventures!
