I grew up in Kentucky with a passion for the outdoors, which eventually led me to Telluride, CO in the winter of 2010. Fortunately, I found the self-restraint to return to college, earning a degree in biotechnology.
In 2013, I returned to the San Juan Mountains, where I’ve lived ever since, touring the backcountry and enjoying our plentiful rock and ice lines. I enjoy all types of climbing, from big walls to remote alpine routes. Some of my favorite places I’ve climbed include the Ruth Gorge in Alaska and the Fitz Roy Massif in Southern Patagonia.
I joined Mountain Trip’s local program in the summer of 2018. I’ve guided seven expeditions on the West Buttress of Denali and three expeditions in Northern Argentina. I am an AMGA Certified Rock and Alpine Guide, and Apprentice Ski Guide. I hold a Professional Level 2 Avalanche Certification.
Two things that I find particularly rewarding about spending time in the mountains are the sense of camaraderie that builds among team-members, and the unique changes in perspective that last long after a climb is over.
When I’m not climbing, I’m traveling abroad on two wheels or hanging out in a tent with my nose in an Edward Abbey book!
