May 29 Simmons Team – Carried Loads to 16,200′

Kurt Wedberg called in after the team carried loads up the fixed lines and onto the ridge that will eventually lead them to High Camp.  It sounds like it was an exciting and tough day, with snow and wind buffeting the team as they worked their way up the fixed lines and onto the ridge to make their cache.  Kurt tends to be somewhat understated, so I expect they go “full value” from today’s efforts!

Here is Kurt!

The fixed lines run up the steepest section of the West Buttress route, known as the Headwall. Climbers ascend this 40-45 degree slope for about 600 feet.
