Logan calls in after a couple busy days to begin the expedition! They were able to fly in to basecamp on the afternoon of the 14th and right away set up camp to then leave that same evening to cross the Kahiltna Glacier at night while the temperatures were cold enough to keep the snow frozen. They were able to continue moving right past Camp 1 and completed their day at 9,500′. Once the sun begins to bake the snow, moving becomes much more challenging as you begin to sink in the heavy snow with each step so they set up camp for the day and will continue to travel through the colder evening hours. Stay tuned!
Love hearing that the May 13th team is strong and doing well!
Me too, Diane! Go, Team 13 … Get’er Done!
God be with you in this beautiful journey. Stay safe💪
