Guide Travis of the June 9 West Buttress team called from 17,200′ High Camp on Denali, with the update that the team will make their summit push TODAY June 25!
Here is the route the team will follow today, gaining just over 3,000′ of elevation. The climb and descent back down to High Camp can take anywhere between 8 and 12 hours, depending on how the team feels and how efficiently they climb, and the conditions on the route. It sounds as if everyone is in high spirits and looking forward to heading for the top!
We will update you all on the team’s progress towards 20,310′ as we receive updates from them. Best of luck to the climbers.
Here’s Travis!
