Erich Nell called in from the team’s new home for the next few days – the broad, Genet Basin at 14,200′ (4328 m). The team moved up today, passing the cache they had left previously at 13,500′, and continuing another hour to what is often referred to as the Advanced Base Camp for the West Buttress. There is a large National Park Service encampment at this elevation, and many climbers congregate to build acclimatization before pushing higher on their summit bids. It can be a bustling place!
Here’s Erich!
